As an amateur historian with two popular history books under my belt, I write Bucks Back Then, which appears the third issue of each month in the Bucks County Herald. This column explores and celebrates one of the most intriguing and unique aspects of life in Bucks County: its historical riches. Are you involved with any historical sites, resources or supporting organizations in Bucks County? Have any upcoming meetings, newsletters or other publications we should know about? Do you have news about recently past or future events addressing the historical aspect of Bucks County, or Pennsylvania in general? Are you aware of any new history books or websites? Know about upcoming community history courses, workshops or lectures that others might enjoy? I encourage you to send in announcements of special occasions to the Heralds Community News and Announcements section, before the actual event. But if you served as a volunteer, participated in or were a spectator at interesting, recently past historical events, thats what wed like to share with our readers in my Bucks Back Then column. Im also interested in specific details from an insiders perspective about upcoming historical events that specifically relate to Bucks County. Im thinking of items which might not make it into a general announcement, but that would really entice people to attend your next event and gain a greater interest in history in general.
